    Garden visit to a yellow book garden at New Whittington. This is a 1/3 of an acre sloping plantsman's garden with year round interest. All plants are labelled and early plant interest comes from Alpines, Spring perennials, Ferns, Bamboos and Euphorbias. Entry £2.50 for NGS.

    Day 1 of our Annual Spring Plant Sale at Sheffield Botanical Gardens. Lots of good plants on sale at reasonable prices - perennials, vegetables, shrubs, annuals and house plants. Refreshments also available in the new classroom. Plant creche to store purchases also available. Admission free.

    Garden visit to a member's Yellow Book garden in Sheffield. This 1/3 of an acre cottage style garden is packed with plants of every shape colour and size and we last visited it in summer. A May visit should reveal loads of spring floral colour. Excellent selection of refreshments follow the visit. Entry £3 for NGS. Refreshments £3.

    Our annual seedling exchange. Members bring along any spare seedlings of any plants they have (annuals, perennials and vegetable plants are all usually available). Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have spare seedlings to bring, to come along and take away the seedlings for their own garden.

    Garden visit to member's garden in Sheffield. With plenty of new planting and a large waterfall, much has changed in the 5 years since we last visited this member’s garden in September 2013. What’s not changed is the enormous cliff face and a warm friendly welcome. Free entry, donation for refreshments.

    Garden visit to a member's garden in Sheffield. These members are on their second downsize so the garden is not big but it is stuffed with unusual and desirable plant interest both in the front and back garden. Also, the sloping back garden has no lawn but has a very unusual and unique feature which will be a great talking point. Free entry but donation for refreshments.

    Garden visit to member's garden in Sheffield. This garden is a hidden gem near the middle of the city. I’ve visited this garden and it’s a riot of colour and garden interest with many summer flowering perennials at this time of year. Try not to miss this one. Entry free, Donation for refreshments.

    Talk by South Pennine group member, Hilary Hutson "Gardens of the Canary Islands". Hilary is a much-travelled garden lecturer, well known to SPG members for her informative talks illustrated with excellent photographs.
    Garden Visit - Renishaw Hall

    We have visited Renishaw in Winter, Spring and Summer but never in the Autumn. Here is a chance to see the garden in early Autumn and see how the new herbaceous borders (planted 2 years ago) are progressing. Entry £7 (Over 60 - £6.50). RHS and HHA members free. Car parking £1. Refreshments available from Renishaw café.
